HOW DO I REGISTER FOR HOME BOARDING AND DAY CARE?
Telephone Chat
First of all, we will have a chat on the phone or via text to discuss your needs and you can tell me all about your dog.
Home Meet & Greet
We arrange a short visit to my home (normally in the garden), so that you can see where your dog will be. I will need to see a photo of your dog's vaccinations before you arrive. The Meet & Greet takes around 30 minutes. After this, if we want to go ahead, I will send out a registration form and service agreement for you to complete and sign.
Trial Day or Trial Overnight Stay
Once registered, we will book a trial visit for day care. Once your dog is attending daycare regularly and you would like to book home boarding, a trial overnight stay will be arranged prior to any longer periods of boarding. Trial daycare and home boarding visits are chargeable. During the trial visits, I assess your dog to make sure that they are happy in my house and on group walks, and that they are comfortable around the other dogs. I go through the activities of a normal day to see how your dog gets along.
After the Trial
If all is well, we can then go ahead and accept bookings from this point. Home Boarding is very busy, so book ahead, especially in the school holidays. A deposit is required to hold your space for home boarding.
OTHER INFORMATION
UNNEUTERED FEMALES
Female dogs do not need to be neutered, but we cannot provide services if the dog is in season, so please have a back up plan in place for if your dog goes into season while in our care. There may be additional considerations, which will be discussed with you on a case-by-case basis.
MICROCHIPPING and ID TAGS
All dogs must be microchipped, and the details must be up to date. Dogs must have secure fitting collar or harness with owners' ID tag attached while they are in my care.
VACCINATION, FLEA AND WORM TREATMENTS
Distemper, Hepatitis & Parvovirus (DHP) vaccination is required every 3 years or as the vet directs. LEPTO 2 or 4 (leptospirosis) is required each year. We do not require your dog to have a Bordetella & Canine parainfluenza virus vaccination (Kennel Cough). If you wish to give your dog this vaccine, there must be at least a 10 day period between vaccination and using our services if your dog received the nasal version of the vaccine (this is known as the shedding period). Flea and worming preventatives will need to be up to date. Proof of vaccination, worm and flea treatments must be provided on request.
